Pediatric Hospitalist (0.5 FTE)

Location: Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) – Golisano Children’s Hospital at UVM Health Network, Plattsburgh, NY

Position Overview:
CVPH, a member of the Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health System, is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to provide high-quality inpatient care for infants, children, and adolescents in a supportive community hospital environment. This is a clinical-only position ideal for physicians seeking work-life balance within a collaborative, family-centered care model.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage inpatient pediatric and newborn patients, including admissions, daily rounds, and discharges.
  • Provide newborn nursery coverage and attend deliveries as needed.
  • Collaborate with community pediatricians and UVM Children’s Hospital subspecialists.
  • Support the Emergency Department with pediatric consultations.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives within the pediatric service.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO, Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Eligible for NY medical licensure.
  • Strong clinical and communication skills; commitment to compassionate, team-based care.

Schedule & Benefits:

  • 0.5 FTE (approximately 20 hours/week or equivalent block schedule).
  • Shared weekends/holidays and call responsibilities within the hospitalist team.
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Competitive Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000/yr
