Job Description

Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a collaborative and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Family Medicine team in Montpelier, Vermont.


This is an opportunity to join a thriving outpatient primary care practice with a strong interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care across the full age spectrum, from pediatrics through geriatrics.

Schedule

  • Full-time (1.0 FTE)

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • No weekends

  • Optional shared call


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services for patients of all ages.

  • Perform history and physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and preventive health visits.

  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient setting.

  • Prescribe medications and coordinate appropriate ancillary services.

  • Conduct in-person and telemedicine visits as appropriate.

  • Build long-term relationships with patients and families while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated patient care.

Experience

  • APP Primary care experience is preferred, but not required.

  • New graduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are encouraged to apply.

  • Passion for patient-centered care and team-based practice.


Education & Licensure Requirements


For Nurse Practitioners:

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Current National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.

  • Active Vermont APRN license with eligibility for prescriptive authority.


  • Telemedicine opportunities available. Providers must be eligible to obtain New York licensure to support telemedicine visits for patients located in New York.


For Physician Assistants:

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • Current National Certification as a PA.

  • Active Vermont PA license with eligibility for prescriptive authority


  • Telemedicine opportunities available. Providers must be eligible to obtain New York licensure to support telemedicine visits for patients located in New York.
