Job Description

Alice Hyde Medical Center (AHMC) in Malone, NY is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Hospital Medicine team in a 0.62 FTE daytime role. You’ll provide high-quality inpatient care alongside a supportive Hospitalist and a collaborative clinical team, with meaningful autonomy and the chance to make a real impact in a community-focused hospital setting.

What You’ll Do

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage hospitalized patients in coordination with the Hospitalist physician.
  • Respond to nursing staff calls and evaluate changes in patient condition.
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Complete admissions, daily progress notes, and discharge planning, including summaries and follow-up coordination.
  • Support patient flow across inpatient units and partner with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, high-quality care.

Schedule

  • 0.62 FTE (~25 hours/week), weekday daytime shifts.
  • Combination of 8–10-hour shifts, depending on operational needs.
  • No night shifts: occasional weekend or holiday participation may be requested.

What You Bring

  • Active licensure (or eligibility) as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • Experience required in Hospital Medicine or acute care (not open to new graduates at this time).
  • Ability to practice with independence and confidence in a mixed-acuity inpatient environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing, therapies, and case management.
  • A commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care.

Education & Licensure Requirements

Nurse Practitioners (NP):

  • Completion of a master’s, post-master’s, or doctoral NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN.
  • Current national certification (such as ANCC, or equivalent).

Physician Assistants (PA):

  • Graduation from an ARC-PA–accredited PA program (or qualifying predecessor program).
  • Current NCCPA certification.

Compensation Range: $77.30 to $96.81/hr., based on experience and qualifications.
