Job Description

Position Overview

The University of Vermont (UVM) and the University of Vermont Health Network seek a highly qualified cardiologist to join our Cardiovascular Division as an Assistant or Associate Professor on the Clinical Scholar Pathway. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide expert cardiovascular care with a specialized focus on cardio-oncology, serving patients with cancer across our academic health system.

Location: University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) & Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH)


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care (80% FTE):

    • Deliver ambulatory and inpatient cardiovascular care within the University of Vermont Health Medical Group.
    • Provide specialized cardio-oncology services in collaboration with oncology teams:
      • Ambulatory Clinics:
        • UVMMC (0.2 FTE)
        • CVPH (0.2 FTE)
      • Noninvasive Testing:
        • Interpret ECGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms (0.2 FTE)
      • Inpatient Care:
        • Cardiology consultations and management at UVMMC (0.3 FTE)
  • Teaching (10% effort):

    • Educate medical students, residents, and fellows in cardiovascular medicine and cardio-oncology.
  • Service:

    • Participate in hospital, departmental, and university committees and initiatives.

Preferred Expertise: Training or demonstrated excellence in cardio-oncology.


Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Additional training or clinical experience in cardio-oncology preferred

Compensation

  • Assistant Professor: $400,000 – $460,000
  • Associate Professor: $420,000 – $470,000

Salary reflects combined compensation from UVM and the University of Vermont Health Medical Group. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and other factors.
