Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Clinical Scholar Pathway)
University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC)


Overview

The Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine at the University of Vermont and the UVM Health Medical Group are seeking a Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to join the Division of Hematology/Oncology.

This faculty role is based at Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) and offers a balanced opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care while contributing to academic medicine.


Position Highlights

  • Faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level
  • 90% clinical / 10% protected academic time
  • Practice across outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Opportunity to shape oncology care delivery in a key rural hub
  • Work within a collaborative, mission-driven academic health system
  • Access to clinical trials through the UVM Cancer Center

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient care in general hematology and medical oncology
  • Deliver inpatient consultative services, including weekend call
  • Care for a broad range of hematology and oncology patients
  • Participate in shared call coverage, including nights and weekends as needed

Academic & Teaching Responsibilities

  • Utilize 10% protected time for scholarly activity
  • Participate in clinical research and trial enrollment through UVMCC
  • Teach and mentor:
    • Hematology/Oncology fellows
    • Medical residents
    • Medical students
  • Serve on departmental, college, and cancer center committees
  • Provide academic advising and contribute to educational initiatives

Qualifications

  • ABIM board certified or board eligible in Hematology and Oncology
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Vermont and New York
  • Eligible for hospital privileges within the UVM Health Network
  • Qualified for faculty appointment at UVM
  • Commitment to patient-centered care across the spectrum of oncology and hematology
