Job Description

Alice Hyde Medical Center, located at 133 Park Street in Malone, New York, is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team in a per diem capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, working closely with the Emergency Department Physician team.

  • Respond promptly to calls from the nursing staff, effectively managing changes in patient conditions.

  • Order and interpret tests and images, and prescribe medications as needed.

  • Prepare patient discharges, including writing prescriptions, discharge summaries, arranging follow-up appointments, and educating patients and their families.

  • Maintain a high standard of patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the Emergency Department.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an Emergency Room setting is preferred.

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to assess and manage patient care independently.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical staff and patient education.


Education & Licensure Requirements

Nurse Practitioners (NP):

  • Completion of a master’s, post-master’s, or doctoral NP program accredited by CCNE or ACEN.
  • Current national certification (such as ANCC, or equivalent).

Physician Assistants (PA):

  • Graduation from an ARC-PA–accredited PA program (or qualifying predecessor program).
  • Current NCCPA certification.

All candidates must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in New York State.

Compensation range: $77.30–$96.81 per hour, based on experience, plus a 15% per diem differential.
